Würth IT Celebrates its Tenth Anniversary

Würth IT celebrated its tenth anniversary last month and can look back on a decade of innovation, growth and international expansion. Since its foundation in October 2014, Würth IT has established itself as a technology partner for over 400 Würth companies worldwide, driving the digital transformation of the Würth Group with customized and scalable IT solutions worldwide.

Over the past ten years, Würth IT has integrated pioneering technologies such as PICO, an AI assistant to strengthen sales and efficiency in customer contact, into the Würth Group's IT infrastructure. This has resulted in a continuous improvement in service quality. Successful projects also include the implementation of a customized e-commerce platform for the Würth Group's international markets.

With over 1,300 specialized employees worldwide, Würth IT stands for a culture of innovation, agility and international cooperation: "We are not only celebrating ten years of Würth IT, but also ten years of partnership and commitment," emphasizes Christian Berndt, Managing Director of Würth IT. The development of Würth IT is impressively reflected in the figures: over 44,000 users use the central ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system within the Würth Group. Last year, more than 28 million orders were processed via the Würth IT systems. The sales of over EUR 9 billion generated in the Würth Group via these systems are particularly noteworthy.

Milestones in the History of Würth IT

Würth IT was officially launched in October 2014 with the opening of the first location in Bad Mergentheim, followed a few days later by Schorndorf. In June 2015, the Waldzimmern location was opened, which houses the Würth Group's first data center and creates a secure basis for the IT infrastructure. In the same year, international expansion began with the founding of Würth IT India to expand IT expertise on the Asian market. In 2018, Würth IT, together with Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG, set an example in terms of customer focus and flexibility by opening the Würth Group's first 24-hour branch office. With DIN ISO 27001 certification in 2021, Würth IT consolidated its position as a reliable and secure IT partner. An award that Würth IT was able to confirm again this year.
