Sustainability is an integral part of our path of qualitative corporate development. In order to limit global warming and to be able to work and live together sustainably in the future, we have made it our mission as an IT company to work on reducing our ecological footprint with innovations, process optimization and technical solutions.


Würth IT takes responsibility: The Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations

As a medium-sized and internationally active group of companies, we are aware of our responsibility. We pursue the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations member states in 2015, is a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and in the future. At its core are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which represent an urgent call to action by all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership.

In 2023, Würth IT refrained from giving customer gifts at the end of the year and donated a budget of EUR 9,000 to local charitable organizations at all company locations in Germany. These Christmas donations are a sign of the company's solidarity with the cities and communities in which it operates and help to strengthen local initiatives.

A sustainable and resource-conserving diet for our employees not only promotes their health, but also contributes to climate protection. In our company restaurants, our employees have a daily choice of a "Fit Menu" for a balanced and healthy diet that meets the "DGE Quality Standard for Company Catering" and has been certified by the German Nutrition Society (DGE). In addition, the CO2 emissions of the individual dishes are shown in our company restaurants.

The Würth Group is cosmopolitan and tolerant - this should also be reflected in the way Würth IT communicates. Inclusive language, i.e. language that is non-discriminatory, understandable and includes all people equally, is therefore an important part of our communication. We take gender into account in internal as well as external communication.

This serves as a guideline for employees throughout the Würth Group, but also includes business partners. The philosophy of Special Olympics is very simple: to increase the self-confidence and acceptance of people with intellectual and multiple disabilities in society through sport. In cooperation with Würth, Panorama Catering and the system provider Relevo, a reusable concept for takeaway food was introduced in Würth's company restaurants. Relevo offers a sustainable and smart reusable and to-go solution. The reusable packaging is ecologically safe, BPA-free, made in Germany and can be reused up to 1000 times. With this system, we want to make a contribution to the environment and to the conservation of valuable resources.

With its holistic concept, the Academy provides support for in-company training as well as personal and professional development. The wide-ranging portfolio of Akademie Würth, with seminars on digitalization, new work, work-life balance and the sustainability management qualification program, shows that Akademie Würth is constantly evolving and addressing current trends.

Sustainable data center at the Waldzimmern site

This measure is an integral part of the company's #GreenIT offensive, and is now an energy-saving potential for the entire Würth Group.

Social standards in the supply chain

Würth IT GmbH builds on a social foundation characterized by reciprocity and cooperation. Fair cooperation means: compliance with guidelines and laws, internal company standards and a clear ethical mission statement. Or in short: compliance. As part of a global value chain, we are aware of our responsibility and reflect on our influence on the economic, social and ecological facets of society. We must prevent harm to our company, our business partners and our employees. Rules and standards must apply to everyone in order to enable fair cooperation. We are dependent on creating a transparent environment, recognizing misconduct and following up on indications of harmful behavior. The protection of fair competition, human rights and the environment are paramount. We consistently pursue any indications of violations. Würth IT GmbH assumes social responsibility with the help of sustainable supply chain management and audits more than 700 suppliers. The minimum requirements with regard to environmental protection, human rights and fair labor and business practices are checked.

We are also dependent on information about violations. We encourage all people in the Würth IT GmbH environment, internally or externally, to report breaches of rules or suspicions. Whistleblowers are protected by the company and specific indications are investigated. Discrimination, intimidation or other influence on whistleblowers is a breach of the rules in itself and will result in disciplinary action.
