Congratulations: Reinhold Würth turns 90!

With entrepreneurial vision, courage and drive, he has built a global corporation from a small screw shop. He is also known for his cultural and social commitment and his attitude.

The history of the Würth Group is inextricably linked with the entrepreneur Prof. Dr. h. c. mult. Reinhold Würth, the current Honorary Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Würth Group's Family Trusts.

The development of the family business, which now has over 400 companies in 80 countries, is an exemplary success story in the international entrepreneurial landscape: In 1945, the parent company of the Group, Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG, was founded in Germany by Adolf Würth. Reinhold Würth began a commercial apprenticeship in his father's screw wholesaler in 1949 at the age of 14. After the early death of his father in 1954, the then 19-year-old took over the company. Starting from the post-war years of reconstruction in Germany, he developed what was then a two-man business into a globally active trading group.

In 2024, the Würth Group celebrated a very special event with Reinhold Würth: his 75th anniversary with the company. With Reinhold Würth's 90th birthday and the 80th anniversary of the Würth company, two anniversaries will be celebrated in 2025.

From the early beginnings, Reinhold Würth has shaped a corporate culture based on fundamental values such as optimism, dynamism, respect for employees and their achievements as well as active commitment to customers, which is a key driver of the family-owned company's success.

Actively tackling problems, finding new ideas and solutions that relieve customers in their day-to-day business are the guiding principles at Würth. "Look behind the mountain and around the corner" and leave the beaten track, is a basic rule of the company summed up by Reinhold Würth. "We are our customers' employees" is his credo.
